The Season of Turning - a Prayer for Meditation

I want to thank you all again for the great comments to the last post.   I realize it's been a few days, but I'm working on the next installment of that, which I hope (but can't promise) will post next week.

Meanwhile, the weather is turning where I live.   For those of you who don't know, I'm in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and September is what we call locally the Month of Turning.  The Turning is a season between seasons, as it were, where we approach one season and leave another behind. The steamy heat of midsummer is passing, and the nights are chilly now. In fact, the grass is so wet that for the last couple of days it has looked like a frost on my lawn!   It's too early yet for frost, but these signs appear to let me know that Autumn is on her way.

I have to confess: I'm in love with Autumn.     I love all the seasons, but Autumn is my favorite.  It's a time for reflection, silent contemplation, and preparation for rest. It's the time to appreciate our Earth, and all she does for us, and honor her with ceremonies and prayers for the upcoming winter.   And for the last few days, I've been doing those very things.

I don't have much to say this week, but I wanted to offer my readers a prayer that all of you - regardless of your worldviews or beliefs - may find timely and inspiring.  I hope it finds a place in your heart.
